TOURiSTE or not TOURiSTE – Friche la Belle de Mai – Marseille
The studio´s work will be present thanks to the invitation of ASPAS for the 20th year of The South American Film Festival! As part of the Encuentros de las Artes initiative, Frabrika proposes the installation of Touriste or not Touriste in the Petirama room, and two art-making workshops for children and adults.
Valparaiso, Chile. Among the negatives, inks, pigments, silkscreens and array of tools, the studio creates images that value the everyday culture and the authentic places that identify Valparaiso in its constant evolution.
Observers of the industrial impact-both of the shipping port and tourism- on the city, Amandine Couombel and Francisco Araneda focus their photographic and artistic work on the questioning of a system that looks to homogenize ways of life, erasing the fundamental cultural differences from the identity of places. The show will travel from one port to another, creating links between Valparaiso and Marseille, sister citys with much in common.
